Miranda Clark
Mktunes is owned by twenty one year old Miranda Clark who is currently studying media composition at California State University of Northridge. Miranda has been writing music and songs since she was just seven years old and picked up using DAWS in middle school. Through high school, Miranda wrote sound tracks for her brother’s arial footage featuring his mechanical inventions on the rail road tracks. While sparking the interest in viewers, Miranda’s educators also saw how advanced her writing is. While enrolled in a youth program at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), many of her teachers spoke very highly of how well this 13 year old girl could compose and had them performed in the outdoor auditorium, The Wild Beast. A leap of time later and Miranda saw herself composing music as more than just a hobby. She studied music composition and orchestration at College of the Canyons with Greg Hosharian while still in high school. Once enrolled at CSUN for the BM in Media Composition, she has written originals and arrangements for the CSUN Studio Ensemble, and conducted them live at the Plaza Del Sol. In Spring 2023, the documentary she scored entitled “#2276” directed by Sara Sims was nominated as a semifinalist for the Student Academy Award. She also received an award from CSUN’s Film program (CTVA) for best original score in the Spring 2023 screening event. Now studying under Kyle Simpson for music media creation, Miranda is looking for connections and visual producers in need of music accompaniment.
